The Sustainable Living Fair, our area's premier sustainability education event of the year is to be held this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Unity Center, 1600 W. The Columbia Peace Coalition is bringing Ray McGovern, co-founder of Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity to town this coming Tuesday, Oct. 3. McGovern will be speaking at 7:30 p.m. in Keller Auditorium, MU Geology Building on the topic "Iraq: How We Got In, How We Get Out." He will also be interviewed on PW Director Mark Haim's Evening Edition on 89.5 KOPN from 6-7 p.m. that same evening.

Ray McGovern, who served as a CIA analyst for 27 years, has been one of the most outspoken, authoritative and articulate critics of Bush's foreign policy. In January 2003, after it had become clear that intelligence analysis was being corrupted by political pressure to “justify” an unprovoked attack on Iraq, a handful of intelligence community alumni/ae, including Ray, created Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity. VIPS now includes 55 former professionals from CIA, the Defense Intelligence Agency, the Department of State’s Bureau of Intelligence and Research, Army Intelligence, the FBI, the National Security Agency, and other US and Allied intelligence agencies.
